When you google the word "Acidity" you would get a lot of information that would confuse you or be informative to you. People who complain of acidity may not all have the same symptoms. It could be caused by tension or consuming some particular kind of food etc. There again, its not the same for everyone. Often people have burning sensation down the chest, gas formation, back pain, suffocated feeling from unable to burp, giddiness, very sleepy, having a heat ache, nausea etc.
As a person who has suffered with it after spending a week eating huge quantities of (Kamala) or Tangerine Oranges and reading lots of books into late nights when my Amma was not in town I developed Acidity. Little did I know what it was. I came home one day feeling nauseous and having burning sensation down my chest. My sister gave me a huge plate of yogurt rice and for sometime I was able to get rid of it. But in the evening sometime around six I started having head aches and nausea. By having rice flour kanji that my aunt suggested I was able to get rid of the acidity. This is a harmless remedy and can be had whenever one feels discomfort. I am not assuring that this is the only way to heal yourself of the acidity, but I am suggesting a home made remedy that can be tried. Please do have them early morning around 6 and in the evening around 6 for sure. The other times are fine to have them too.

Water - 3/4Th cup
Salt - a pinch or 2Ghee(browned butter)/Butter - 1 or 2 tsp
2. When the water begins to boil and the water starts to thicken add ghee.
3. Cool and drink.
Some of the other remedies include Having 1 tsp of fenugreek seeds, Cumin or Sonf/fennel seeds with water any time. In doing this you will get relief in a few minutes.
